Reel - 11 blade

This RHS2002 reel fits on the reelmowers from and replaces the original with number RHS2502. This types of mowers are used for the most precise mowing jobs on the golfcourse, public green spaces or on sports tracks. This is due to the even mowing result of the reel and the ability to cut the grass exactly down to the millimetre.

A series of knives that go round a cylinder, that’s the most basic explanation one can give about a mowing reel. On the RHS2002 there are 11 knives mounted. The grass is caught between the blades on the cillinder and the sweeping motion cuts the grass on the bedknife. A requirement for this is that the knife edges on either side are very sharp. A dull blade tears the grass, damaging it in the process.

Reels RHS2002 worn down?

A worn down reel? Your reel is not worn down when the blades are dull. The blades can easily be sharpened. A reel is worn down only when the diameter of the reel becomes to small, the cutting result is bad after sharpening or when you cant set up the reel and the bedknife correctly.
