Fleetguard fuel filter FF163
The fuel filter of Fleetguard cleanses the impurities from the fuel before it enters the combustion engine. These impurities are for example small particles that do not belong in the fuel and water. Without the fuel filter these particles could cause damage and irregularities in the engine to the point where the engine malfunctions. Replace the fuel filter regularly with the fuel filter FF163 of Fleetguard. Before replacement, check the parts manual to make sure the FF163 part fits for your machine.
Replacing the Fleetguard fuel filter
From the moment the engine is started, the fuel runs through the hoses and the fuel filter to the engine. In the filter there is a purposely designed technique that separates the water and particles from the fuel and catches it in the filter. When the machine is used for a long time, the filter will slowly start to fill up with the impurities. It is then time to replace the fuel filter for a new Fleetguard filter. The parts manual prescribes where the fuel filter is mounted on the machine. Normally this will be mounted on a convenient place between the engine and the fuel tank. The fuel filter has an inlet for the fuel and an outlet for the cleaned fuel. When mounting the part, check if the fuel filter is properly connected to the system.
