Impurities that are in the fuel are filtered out with a fuel filter. These impurities are for example small particles that do not belong in the fuel and water. If the fuel filter does not catch these particles, the engine would be full of these potentially damaging pieces. Replace the fuel filter regularly with the fuel filter FF5690 of Fleetguard. The parts manual of the machine provides all the information about the right parts, including whether or not the FF5690 fit it.

Replacing the Fleetguard fuel filter

From the moment the engine is started, the fuel runs through the hoses and the fuel filter to the engine. In the filter there is a purposely designed technique that separates the water and particles from the fuel and catches it in the filter. After a while, the filter will be full of water and particles and this can impact the performance of the engine because the fuel cannot pass through the filter properly. Before the filter is fully clogged it is important to replace it for a new one. The parts manual describes the position of the fuel filter on the machine. Normally this will be mounted on a convenient place between the engine and the fuel tank. The fuel filter is recognized by its inlet for the fuel hose and the outlet where the filtered fuel runs through. Make sure you connect the fuel filter in the right way.
