XPZ V-Belts (Toothed)
The XPZ V-belt is the advanced, toothed version of the narrow V-belt, specifically developed for drives requiring higher power density and maximum flexibility. Thanks to its 'raw-edge' construction and characteristic internal teeth, the XPZ belt can easily run over smaller pulley diameters without excessive heat build-up. At RDM Parts, we offer XPZ belts that meet the highest industrial standards, perfect for situations where standard belts would wear prematurely due to tight bending radii or high ambient temperatures.
The toothed structure of the XPZ belt not only ensures better grip in the pulley but also significantly higher energy efficiency. Because the belt encounters less internal resistance during bending, the operating temperature remains lower, benefiting the lifespan of both the belt and the surrounding bearings. This makes the XPZ belt an excellent choice for compact machine designs.
Expert tip: The advantage of XPZ over SPZ
Although the XPZ belt shares the same basic dimensions as the wrapped SPZ belt (top width 9.7 mm), the toothed version offers up to 30% more power transmission. The key technical difference is that the XPZ belt has no wrapping on the flanks (raw-edge), resulting in a higher coefficient of friction and minimizing slip. Do you have a heavily loaded drive or very small pulleys? Then switching from SPZ to XPZ is often an effective solution to extend service life. Please note that, like the standard series, sizing is indicated in pitch length (Lw, Ld, or Lp).
