Expert tip: approach the system as a whole

When a fault occurs or a part needs replacing, it pays to look beyond the defective component and consider the system as a whole. A leaking seal or a worn hose often places extra load on the pump and motor, while contamination in the hydraulic oil spreads throughout the entire circuit. When replacing a component, always check the associated seals and O-rings, and pay attention to the correct working pressure and connection sizes. Compare the specifications of the old part with those of your machine, so you can be sure the replacement part can withstand the prevailing pressure, temperature and oil type. This prevents unnecessary wear and extends the service life of the entire system.
