Attach flail
Tiller blades are alternately attached to your rotary tiller. This also makes half of the blades turns left and the other half turns right. Ensure you attach the blade with the cutting surface on the right side. Check if the blade turns right or left when you replace the blade.
Attaching C shaped or L shaped tiller blades
Check the shape of your Desvoys tiller blades, these determine how much force is needed to power them. A tiller blade that has a C shape needs less power to process the soil than a tiller blade that is shaped like an L. A C shaped blade is often used at tiller depts that exceed 5 centimetres.
The angular shape of the L shaped blade needs more power to operate when compared to the C shaped blade. For this reason the L shaped blade is used at tilling depts of less than 5 centimetres. The specific design of the blades prevents compacting of the soil.
