This RDM12460 reel fits on the reelmowers from and replaces the original with number RE318. The kind of mower is mainly used for very precise cutting on the sports or golfcourse and in public green spaces. This is due to the even mowing result of the reel and the ability to cut the grass exactly down to the millimetre.
A reel consist of twisted knives that are placed on a cylinder. On the RDM12460 there are 8 knives mounted. The grass is caught between the blades on the cillinder and the sweeping motion cuts the grass on the bedknife. A sharp knife ensures the grass is neatly cut. If this is not the case, the grass damages because it is torn instead of cut.
