XPB V-Belts (Toothed)

The XPB V-belt represents the top tier of toothed narrow V-belts, designed for industrial drives where maximum power transmission is crucial. This raw-edge version combines the robust dimensions of the SPB profile with the superior flexibility of a toothed interior. This allows the XPB belt to handle higher loads at higher speeds, while heat build-up remains significantly lower than with wrapped belts.

The toothed construction of the XPB belt ensures smoother bending, which is essential for drives with relatively small pulleys for this type of profile. The raw edges provide a direct and powerful grip in the pulley grooves, reducing power loss due to slip to a minimum. Furthermore, the lower internal friction results in higher energy efficiency and an extended service life for the entire drivetrain, including bearings and shafts.

Expert tip: Switching from SPB to XPB

With a top width of 16.3 mm and a height of 13 mm, the XPB belt has exactly the same dimensions as the standard SPB belt. However, due to its toothed raw-edge construction, an XPB belt can transmit up to 30% more power. Are your current SPB belts becoming extremely hot or showing premature cracking due to heavy loading? Then the XPB belt is the recommended upgrade. Please note that sizing is always indicated in pitch length (Lw, Ld, or Lp). Thanks to its heat and oil-resistant properties, our XPB belts perform stably under the most challenging industrial conditions.
