Fleetguard fuel filter FS1220 FS1220
Impurities that are in the fuel are filtered out with a fuel filter. These impurities are for example small particles that do not belong in the fuel and water. Without the fuel filter these particles could cause damage and irregularities in the engine to the point where the engine malfunctions. Replace the fuel filter when the guidelines for the fuel filter FS1220of Fleetguard prescribe a replacement should be done. Before replacement, check the parts manual to make sure the FS1220 part fits for your machine.
Replacing the Fleetguard fuel filter
The fuel starts pumping through the system, including the fuel filter, from the moment the engine is started. In the filter there is a purposely designed technique that separates the water and particles from the fuel and catches it in the filter. When the machine is used for a long time, the filter will slowly start to fill up with the impurities. It is then time to replace the fuel filter for a new Fleetguard filter. The parts manual describes the position of the fuel filter on the machine. Normally this will be mounted on a convenient place between the engine and the fuel tank. The fuel filter is recognized by its inlet for the fuel hose and the outlet where the filtered fuel runs through. Make sure you connect the fuel filter in the right way.
